With ‘Brat Summer’ well and truly over, it means that the cutesy picnics and the very demure golfing dates that were once flooding our Instagram timelines, will now have to be put on pause.
As with the sun very much going through its annual break up with the residents of London, it means that winter is approaching and singles are going to have to get creative when it comes to entering into their winter dating era.
In recent years getting into the zone of winter dating has meant finding a viable dating partner through online dating apps like Tinder and Bumble, and then spending the next six months locked inside.
Ultimately participating in the infamous Netflix and chill culture, which has taken the UK by storm.
Netflix And Chill:
This new dating norm that has become popular amongst single millennials, is arguably the answer to dating in London when it’s cold outside; as you can escape the terrible weather and enjoy a date or a hook up from the comfort of your own home.
This method of dating has also proven popular with people in relationships too; as according to
statistics 72% of people in relationships have said that staying in and watching Netflix is one of their favourite ways to spend a casual date night.
With a further 58% of couples saying that they actually bond with their significant other over Netflix.
Suggesting that heading inside and dating over shared interests through series like ‘The Bear’ and ‘Emily in Paris’ could actually be the perfect date idea this winter.
However, what if there were more dating possibilities for singles in London apart from leaving a permanent indent on your mum's sofa ?
London dating ideas:
Despite Netflix and chill being the more viable and affordable dating option here in London, as we see the days grow agonizingly longer and the nights excruciatingly colder, surely there are more exciting dating ideas yet to be discovered.
As even though parks may be a no go, there are still a bunch of date night plans waiting to be made, which can both keep you warm and guarantee a good time. Example being:
Drinks:
Heading out for drinks with a match that you’ve made online is an oldie but a goodie when it comes to dating in London. As you are able to meet your date, potentially for the first time, in a public setting which can help singles feel more comfortable and safe whilst meeting new people.
Reason being as if you look at statistics it unfortunately shows that dating isn’t always as safe as we would like, as statistics have shown that
33 percent of dating app users have experienced either harassment or abuse by someone they met via a dating app, which isn’t the most positive statistic.
However if you head on over to one of our previous articles about
‘How to date safely in London’, it highlights how concepts like ‘Ask Angela’ are in place to protect people if they are feeling unsafe, all through using the code word, ‘Ask Angela’ to seek help from trained employees if needed.
Museum:
Another dating idea in London which will keep your pockets full and your mind engaged would be a trip to your local museum. This is because museums are full of hidden gems, they often have interesting exhibitions going on, and most of the time they are free.
Examples of some free museums right here in London would be the
V&A museum or the
National Gallery just to name a few.
So if you’re looking to tap into your artistic side and get you and your dates' minds going then head on over to a museum.
Indoor Activity:
I would say one of my most favourite types of dates, when someone finally decides to date me again, would be an activity. Whether that’s an indoor arcade like gravity, bowling, or even tapping into your big kid era with a night at baller ballerson.
I believe an activity would be the perfect way to get to know your date a bit better, as it takes the pressure away from a traditional dinner date, and you are able to let loose and have fun, in an organic way.
So with this article very much proving that it is possible for singles to transfer their dating life from
online to offline, hopefully this will give you the push you need to get back out there.
However if you are still feeling hesitant in how to even go about suggesting and planning such a date, luckily for you this is where
Evntful
comes in.
Evntful:
Evntful
which is an upcoming dating brand has come to fruition with a new concept to spice up the dating scene as we once knew it, and put a fresh spin on guiding singles to love.
The main way they are able to do this is through matching like minded singles and getting them out there on some amazing dates, through some of the companies and institutions they have partnered with.
Examples being
Laki Kane,
Barge East and
Alcotraz just to name a few.
With these partnerships it allows for singles to head out to a venue which is linked to Evntful, in which they are then able to safely have fun and create meaningful connections, which will hopefully then lead to long lasting love.
What makes Evntful so unique is that they put their users' safety at the forefront of their app, as some of the features on the app allow for their users to include emergency contacts which can be alerted at any time during a date.
Also the app will provide
prompts to check on the date and see how it’s going.
So If for any reason it is not going well or you feel unsafe, you are able to select the ‘I need help’ feature, which will alert your emergency contacts, which will revolutionise the dating scene.
This is why you need to head out there and take a swipe on love, as if you’re worried about planning a date or thinking of something out of the box to wow your date with, here at Evntful we can help you eliminate your dating horrors and make your dating dreams come true.
